MLB's annual Field of Dreams game is always a cool spectacle and fun event. However, this year's edition wasn't the most exciting game.
The Philadelphia Phillies routed the Minnesota Twins 7-1, hammering three home runs into the cornfields beyond the outfield walls. Kyle Schwarber mashed two of them off Twins starter Taj Bradley, raising his MLB-leading total to 37.
Brandon Marsh cranked the other, putting the game out of reach with his two-run shot in the top of the seventh.
That was more than enough run support for Aaron Nola, who turned back the clock with a vintage performance. The struggling veteran twirled five innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts, limiting Minnesota to a second-inning solo shot by Luke Keaschall.

The win was much-needed for the slumping Phillies, who were just 8-13 over their previous 21 games. Their seven runs matched their total from their previous three games combined.
After an off day on Friday for travel, the two teams will resume their series at Target Field on Saturday.
