The ongoing debate around trans athletes in the WNBA continues to garner widespread attention in the media.
Enes Kanter recently declared himself for the WNBA Draft, while Royce White did the same before later saying that he would ‘hope’ Donald Trump would ‘be supportive’ of his decision.
The continuing discourse around the WNBA rules is distracting from action on the court, but it doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon.
Among those to comment on the situation this week is former ESPN analyst Ryan Clark.

Ryan Clark suggests Royce White and Enes Kanter shouldn’t ‘make a mockery’ amid WNBA declarations
Clark spoke to The Pivot Podcast, as quoted by Awful Announcing , about the situation and had some choice words for Kanter and White.
He used the phrase ‘absolute clowns’ and suggested people should not ‘make jokes about things you’ll never understand’.
Clark stated: “If we are men, and as former athletes, and we understand how hard it is to get respect in the game, don’t make a mockery about what these women are going through. Don’t make jokes about things you’ll never understand.
“Stay out of it. If you don’t have some input, either right or wrong, that could be impactful or helpful, let these people be. Because dudes who could never play who want to make jokes about something that is incredibly serious are absolute clowns.”
But unfortunately for the players, this feels like a topic that will continue to garner attention from many corners for the foreseeable future.
