"WWE SmackDown" is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on this Friday — August 7 — to follow up on all the big happenings from WWE SummerSlam 2026. This week’s “Raw” set the tone for a lot of new directions coming, as Money In the Bank looms as the next big PLE.
The big returns at SummerSlam came in the forms of Kevin Owens and Randy Orton, both appearing on separate nights. For Orton, he appeared on Night 1, hitting Cody Rhodes with an RKO to secure CM Punk a successful Undisputed WWE Championship defense. Owens, on the other hand, claimed his spot as the next No. 1 contender, defeating Sami Zayn, Gunther and Finn Balor. Where things go for all next will be seen on Friday night.
New Interim Women’s Champion Chelsea Green is all set to appear after she defeated Jade Cargill, Lash Legend, Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton in a ladder match on Night 2. Green will now fill the void left by champion Rhea Ripley, who just yesterday revealed that she underwent a successful knee surgery.
Trick Williams will also be on “SmackDown” in the wake of his U.S. Championship loss to Baron Corbin.
