Florida men's basketball will take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Dec. 12 as part of the Hall of Fame Series in Orlando , Florida, at the Kia Center. Tickets for the game will go on sale Wednesday, August 19, at 9 a.m. ET, with television information being released at a later date.
Florida is down 20-24 all-time vs. Georgia Tech; however, the programs only have one meeting in the last 50 years, and it was the Gators coming out on top in the most recent meeting, 80-69. Florida came out on top at home on Nov. 23, 1987, with Livingston Chatman scoring 25 points off the bench in his collegiate debut.
The Hall of Fame Series will mark Florida's first game at the Kia Center since the 2017 NCAA Tournament opening weekend, when the Gators posted wins vs. East Tennessee State and Virginia.
Florida and Georgia Tech will be a part of a doubleheader, also featuring Florida Atlantic vs. VCU.
The Gators continue to solidify an already thrilling non-conference slate. Matchups against Miami, Duke, and Florida State have already been set. The Gators also compete in the Players Era, with their first matchup coming against Notre Dame, followed by potential matchups against Houston, Rutgers, and Kansas, among others.
Florida retained four double-figure scorers: Thomas Haugh (17.1), Alex Condon (15.1), Boogie Fland (11.6) and Rueben Chinyelu (10.9).
This is the first time since the 2010-11 season that the program has accomplished such a feat. Three of the four earned All-SEC honors last season.
The Gators will look to start their season on a high note by defeating the Miami Hurricanes in Tampa, Florida, on Nov. 2.
