Dan Quinn has two words to describe 2026 Commanders
Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn understands this could be a make-or-break year for his coaching career. If Washington repeats last season's 5-12 record, Quinn realizes he's probably out of a job, and landing a third head-coaching job could prove difficult.
Throughout the offseason, Quinn has operated with urgency. The urgency began in January, when he fired defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. and parted ways with offensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. The Whitt firing was not a surprise, but Kingsbury's dismissal caught many off guard. However, it was clear the Commanders were tired of his fast-break, no-huddle offense and wanted to surround quarterback Jayden Daniels with a more traditional NFL offense.
