We are with them at the Greenbrier Resort Sports Performance Center to cover it all for NorthJersey.com and The Record.
The Giants began their final week here with three consecutive fully padded practices, so coach John Harbaugh pulled back some on Thursday, instead opting for what essentially served as a two-and-a-half hour jogthrough that focused on play installation and view, a mental day.
What that means: Harbaugh and the Giants are expected to ramp it up again Friday, the next to last day of training camp at the Greenbrier before traveling back to New Jersey on Saturday night.
Here's what we're seeing and hearing as the Harbaugh Era continues:
Injury updates: Dru Phillips (knee sprain) out for a bit
Giants nickel corner Dru Phillips is going to be sidelined at least until next week and perhaps a bit longer after suffering what Harbaugh called a knee sprain in Wednesday's practice. It's a tough blow for Phillips to miss any time as he was working with the first-team defense in the slot, but also facing competition from safety Ar'Darius Washington.
Now it'll be Washington and cornerback Greg Newsome - who is also battling for a starting spot on the boundary - as Phillips recovers. The Giants signed corners D.J. James and David Long, and Harbaugh suggested they could sign another corner. Nic Jones is also an option to get a bump in reps at the nickel.
