Curling fans in the United States won't have to wait for the next Olympics to get another chance to watch their favorite sport.
A new three-year agreement between The Curling Group and ESPN will see the Grand Slam of Curling join the Rock League on ESPN+. The streaming service, which is available through the ESPN app , will provide more than 300 hours of live coverage to U.S. audiences during the 2026-27 season.
It's a welcome turn of events after U.S.-based fans essentially went the entire cycle between the Beijing and Milan Cortina Winter Games without access to coverage of curling's biggest events. In late 2022 and early 2023, ESPN dropped its simulcasts of the Scotties and Brier, and NBC Sports declined to renew its contract for the world championships.
The U.S. sports giant stepped back into the picture last spring, though, with ESPN+ streaming the week-long Rock League rollout, and the network's new deal will make it the go-to option for curling once again.
"This agreement with ESPN represents a major milestone in our continued commitment to growing curling in the United States and around the world," Nic Sulsky, co-founder and CEO of The Curling Group, said in a release . "By bringing both the Grand Slam of Curling and Rock League to ESPN, we ensure these incredible performances are available to a broader audience.”
The ESPN news comes days after The Curling Group announced an expanded broadcast deal with CBC and Sportsnet for Canadian TV and streaming rights to the same events in 2026-27.
Coverage begins in mid-October with the first of the Grand Slam events, the GSOC Invitational from Victoria, British Columbia. The field there will include teams skipped by 2026 Olympic gold medalists Brad Jacobs of Canada and Anna Hasselborg of Sweden, who also faced off in the Rock League championship in April.
The world's top teams will make five GSOC stops around Canada, concluding with the Players' Cup in December (see the full schedule below). Once the calendar flips to 2027, Rock League will return with an expanded five-week season showcasing its unique format, which features multi-national teams facing off in men's, women's and mixed fours games along with mixed doubles over the course of the week.
