See the full story · 1 sourcesThe Carolina Panthers still have a couple roster holes they could address before the 2026 NFL season begins. However, most of their improvement this year will have to come from the players who were already on the roster in 2025.
On that score, the guy with the most room to grow may be wide receiver Jalen Coker—who's getting more buzz than ever going into this third year in the league.
Listen to The Charlotte Observer 's Panthers beat reporters Alex Zietlow and Mike Kaye raving about Coker's route running as well as his conditioning here in the early goings of training camp:
There's no doubting Coker's big-play ability, which we have seen him flash several times over his two-year career. His talent was never more obvious than it was in Carolina's wild-card round showing, when he reeled in eight receptions for 134 yards and a late go-ahead touchdown in the near-upset of the Los Angeles Rams.
The big question with Coker is whether or not he can stay on the field for a full year. He's missed six games in each of the last two seasons due to soft-tissue injuries in his quad.
If he can avoid that same issue popping up, Coker will have a real chance to post some previously unthinkable numbers for this offense.
