Mike Golic Sr. to join Notre Dame Radio Network for upcoming football season
Notre Dame has added a marquee name to its football radio broadcast crew.
The Fighting Irish announced on Wednesday, Aug. 5, that former Notre Dame defensive lineman Mike Golic Sr. is joining the Notre Dame Radio Network as a color commentator for the upcoming 2026 college football season.
He'll be paired with Tony Simeone in the booth, with Johnny Soper providing studio coverage.

"Some places never leave your heart; Notre Dame is one of those places for me," Golic said in a statement. "To now have the opportunity to serve on the radio team with Tony and Johnny is both humbling and exciting. I am looking forward to every game, and sharing the passion that makes Irish football unlike anything else."
Golic played in South Bend from 1981 through 1984 under former Notre Dame coach Gerry Faust before going on to have a decade-long career in the NFL, where he was originally drafted by the then-Houston Oilers in the 10th round of the 1985 NFL Draft.
Joining the Notre Dame Radio Network is the second major career announcement from Golic in recent weeks, as he returned to ESPN Radio with his new daily radio show "The Golics" with his son, former Notre Dame offensive lineman Mike Golic Jr., this past week after being away from the network for six years.
The former Notre Dame defensive lineman will make his Fighting Irish radio debut on Sunday, Sept. 6 when CJ Carr and Co. travel to Lambeau Field for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff against Wisconsin.
Notre Dame edged out defending national champion Indiana for the No. 5 position in Tuesday's preseason US LBM Coaches Poll release by two poll points, despite the Fighting Irish receiving just five first-place votes compared to the Hoosiers' 14, the second-most among all teams.
