The funeral service for Milian Dula was held at Grace Chapel Baptist Church in Paterson.
Dula and her friend and classmate at Garfield Public School #6, Mikey Klenk Jr., died last month after being swept into the water while playing by a boat ramp.
Dula's family says in her short life, the talented and inquisitive girl taught them how to love unconditionally and find beauty in simple things.
