Anyone waiting for a last-minute bargain to attend the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game received a costly surprise Saturday.
Those deals never arrived. Instead of dropping as tipoff approached, ticket prices for the WNBA’s annual showcase continued climbing. The massive demand turned Saturday night’s game at the United Center into one of the hottest sporting events of the summer.
According to TicketData.com, the lowest available price surged from $74 on June 19 to approximately $343 shortly before the game . Gametime showed some tickets starting around $360 as fans made their final attempts to get inside the arena.
Last year, the get-in price for the All-Star Game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis was only $71. That type of last-minute bargain was nowhere to be found in Chicago.
The enormous difference provided another powerful example of the WNBA’s rapid growth. Fans were willing to pay hundreds of dollars simply to enter a 20,000-seat arena and watch the league’s brightest stars celebrate its 30th season.
WNBA All-Star ticket demand reaches new level
Ticket prices had already started rising well before All-Star Weekend began . The get-in price reportedly reached $233 by Friday, more than double the $105 fans were paying only one week earlier. The average sale price on SeatGeek climbed to $431, while the platform’s order volume tripled compared to the 2025 game.

By Saturday afternoon, some resale marketplaces showed average prices exceeding $500. Lower-level seats were selling for significantly more, with certain listings approaching four figures.
The demand is even more impressive considering the hometown Chicago Sky did not have a player selected for the All-Star Game. The Sky entered the break with a 9-18 record after trading Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream in April. Chicago’s absence from the All-Star rosters did little to cool local interest.
Fans still filled the city throughout the weekend, attending player appearances, brand events, WNBA Live and Friday night’s Shooting Stars and 3-Point Contest at Wintrust Arena. Saturday’s game provided the centerpiece.
Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers headline loaded rosters
The league did not need a hometown representative to sell the event because the two rosters were loaded with recognizable stars. WNBA legends Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon drafted the teams as part of the league’s 30th-season celebration.
Team Spoon featured Caitlin Clark, A’ja Wilson, Aliyah Boston, Olivia Miles, Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Jonquel Jones, Courtney Williams, Jessica Shepard, Kiki Iriafen and Nneka Ogwumike. Team Coop countered with Paige Bueckers, Breanna Stewart, Kelsey Mitchell, Angel Reese, Gabby Williams, Natasha Howard, Marina Mabrey, Dominique Malonga, Kahleah Copper, Jackie Young and Sonia Citron.
The collection included established champions, former MVPs, international standouts and several of the league’s most exciting young players. Clark entered the break averaging 21 points and 7.9 assists for the Eastern Conference-leading Indiana Fever . Wilson was leading the WNBA with 25.5 points per game while making another push for MVP.
Bueckers continued her rise as the face of the Dallas Wings . Reese returned to the city where her professional career began while averaging 15.4 points and a league-leading 11.5 rebounds with Atlanta.
The game offered something for almost every generation of WNBA fan.

All-Star Weekend showcases league’s future
The excitement began before Saturday’s game. Dallas Wings rookie Azzi Fudd became the first first-year player in WNBA history to win the 3-Point Contest. She scored 31 points in the championship round, the second-highest total in the event’s history, to defeat Portland Fire forward Bridget Carleton.
Team Washington, featuring Shakira Austin, Elena Delle Donne and 17-year-old GG Banks, won the revamped Shooting Stars competition. Former President Barack Obama surprised the All-Stars during practice at the Obama Presidential Center. He spoke to the players, attempted to defend New York Liberty center Jonquel Jones and shared a memorable conversation with Clark.
Reese unveiled her signature Barbie doll and hosted children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago at her Barbie x Reebok Dream Closet event. Each child left with a pair of her unreleased “Barbie” Angel Reese 1 shoes. Sophie Cunningham released her first Adidas player-exclusive shoe, while numerous other stars participated in fashion, business and community events throughout Chicago.
All-Star Weekend became much more than one exhibition game. It turned into a citywide celebration of basketball, culture, fashion and the growing influence of women’s sports.
WNBA growth is impossible to ignore
The WNBA’s business has reached a different level. Record television audiences and rising attendance have helped increase the reported value of the league’s new media-rights agreements from $2.2 billion to approximately $3 billion.
The league expanded to 15 teams and is scheduled to reach 18 by 2030. Franchise values and expansion fees have climbed dramatically as investors compete for a place in the WNBA’s future. Players are also beginning to receive larger financial rewards.
