It shouldn’t take long for Gavin Grahovac to earn his first call‑up to High‑A or even Double‑A. He looks the part, carries himself like a future big‑leaguer, and has already shown he can adjust to professional pitching. After spending last season at Texas A&M working his way back from a season‑ending shoulder injury as a sophomore, he’s finally starting to find his rhythm again, and it shows.
Early‑season struggles are common across the minors. Strikeouts spike, hitless nights pile up, and small sample sizes can make even top prospects look raw. Grahovac hasn’t been immune to the strikeouts, but he’s been far more consistent than most players in his position.
He has recorded a hit in nine of his first ten games, and just recently logged his first multi‑hit performance with two knocks against the Ontario Tower Buzzers. That outing extended his hit streak to six games, a strong indicator that he’s settling into the pace of pro ball.
Through his first stretch of games, Grahovac owns a .256/.356/.462 slash line with 10 hits, two home runs, and three RBI. The strikeouts - 15 so far, roughly 1.5 per game - stand out, but they’re hardly alarming for a player this early in his professional career. More importantly, he’s showing the traits that made him a high‑end SEC bat. The ability to get on base, drive the ball with authority, and punish mistakes .
