Wyndham Clark’s three-shot victory at the BMW Championship didn’t do justice to how close the tournament actually was coming down the stretch on Sunday.
Clark endured a tough time on Sunday at Bellerive as he struggled with his game, and it seemed like it was all getting too much for him mentally.
However, the 32-year-old American showed his true class by making three consecutive birdies to close out his final round.

Clark was actually embroiled in controversy on Sunday at the BMW , after he was accused of nestling numerous different irons in behind his ball in the rough on the 14th hole.
However, nothing came of that in the end, and the 32-year-old now has three PGA Tour wins to his name this season.

The two-time US Open champion spoke with Amanda Balionis after winning the BMW Championship.
Clark responded when asked what he proved by triumphing at Bellerive on Sunday.
“ I think it shows that I am one of the best players in the world,” the two-time US Open champion insisted.
“ I know everyone maybe gives me a hard time, but I feel like I have come into my own.

“ Three wins in one season is my best year yet, coming off of my worst year ever and I am really pleased with where I am at right now. “
He then revealed what his caddie kept reminding him throughout the final round at Bellerive.
“ I felt good with my swing I just wasn’t hitting good shots, “ Clark said.
“ Maybe I was not focused on a few of the shots, but I started saying, ‘swing free’, that’s what Dave kept telling me, and in the end I was really proud of myself.
“ I did not let it get away, even though it felt like I did it was still there, and I finished strong. “

Clark led by five strokes heading into the final round at Bellerive on Sunday.
And he responded when asked how he felt about that as he teed off on the first hole.
“ It was weird. I wasn’t really nervous, I was kind of out of it. I was just making dumb bogeys. I could not believe I did not make anything on the greens. I tried to keep myself going, “ Clark admitted.
“ I think when I made the putt on the par three it got me back and I jumped right back into it. It was fun actually.
“ As much as I would have loved to run away with this, it got the juices flowing and I felt the anxiety coming at the end.
“ It’s hard to win. When you’re up by five the only thing you can do is blow it unless someone shoots really low. “
