Caitlin Clark Achieves Stunning WNBA History in Win Over Wings

Caitlin Clark helped power the Indiana Fever to a 98-87 home victory over the Dallas Wings on Friday night, dueling with fellow All-Star Paige Bueckers throughout the game.
Both players scored 29 points in the matchup, with Clark also tallying 10 assists, three rebounds, and a steal to help her team's cause. That stat line helped Clark achieve a significantly impressive milestone in her career and WNBA history.
It was her seventh game of the season with 25-plus points and 10-plus assists, and the 13th game of her career with stats at that level. The most times any other WNBA player has achieved this in the league's history is six times, giving Clark impressive spot in the record books.
It's a sign of how talented Clark is as a basketball player, not only for her scoring abilities, but also for her ability to find teammates with well-crafted passes so they can score with ease.

Clark's night didn't come without some concern, as the Fever's All-Star limped back to the locker room just before halftime. She reportedly suffered an injury scare after stepping on Wings forward Alysha Clark's foot in the second quarter.
At halftime, she had nine points, four assists, and three rebounds, per Indy Star . She returned to the court for an impressive performance in the second half, including 20 more points and six more assists, to reach that career and historic milestone with another points-assists double-double.
After the win, Clark said she would be fine and ice the injury to make sure she was recovered for the next Fever game.
For her career, Clark has tallied 1,640 points and 700 assists. Clark's assists total is 600 away from her entering the top 25 all-time players for career assists. Kristi Toliver owns the No. 25 spot on the list with 1,300 assists, and she is still among active WNBA players.
While she has work to do to get on that top 25 list, she currently is the all-time WNBA leader for career assists-per-game average at 8.43 per game, per Basketball Reference . That's certainly an incredible feat and continues to spotlight how unique a player Clark is and will likely become in future seasons.
She was very limited last season due to injury concerns, so one can only imagine what her historic feats might include had she been healthy. That said, Clark's still only three seasons into her WNBA career and doesn't seem anywhere near done accomplishing amazing things.
