See the full story · 1 sourcesFlorida State football head coach Mike Norvell provided an injury update on his Seminoles team ahead of the start of preseason camp.
At his annual preseason media luncheon, Norvell said that "guys are progressing well" and that there will be some players who are "limited" to start camp.
Wide receiver Jayvan Boggs and linebacker Mikai Gbayor are both players who should get significant play time this season, but both were hurt in spring. Norvell didn't comment on when he expected them back; however, he suggested the duo could be ready to play by the opening weeks of the season.
"We'll see exactly where they are," Norvell said. "They definitely both have an open door of opportunity of being ready for the first game... We'll see how that plays out as we get closer, but I like their progress."
Among the other players who will be limited or miss preseason camp are transfer linebacker Chris Thomas, who arrived on campus with an injury to his knee, and freshman defensive lineman Cam Brooks, who suffered an Achilles injury.
The Seminoles will get a boost with talented freshman linebacker Izayia Williams and transfer defensive lineman Jordan Sanders both available at the start of camp.
"Sanders will be full, ready to go," Norvell said.
"He's fully cleared. He definitely looks the part. I'm excited to see him out at practice," Norvell added on Williams.
