Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell
The loaded Los Angeles Dodgers got another star back on Tuesday night as Blake Snell returned from the injured list at Dodger Stadium.
Making his first start since May 9 after undergoing surgery to remove loose bodies from his pitching elbow, Snell didn't skip a beat. The two-time Cy Young winner racked up 10 strikeouts over six innings of one-run ball against the Kansas City Royals, allowing just three hits and one walk while throwing 55 of his 84 pitches for strikes.
His gem helped the Dodgers to a 5-4 win and their second straight victory, improving their NL West-leading record to 72-48.
It was only Snell's second start of the season for Los Angeles, as he also missed the first six weeks with an injury. That's been a theme for Snell throughout his career, unfortunately, as the 33-year-old southpaw has often been plagued by injuries and inconsistency.

When he's right, however, he can be one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball. If he can stay healthy down the stretch, he could give the Dodgers a huge boost in October as they seek their third straight championship .
While the Royals were an easy matchup, he'll face a much tougher test in his next scheduled outing against the Milwaukee Brewers at home on Sunday.
