Aaron Rodgers is back to play another season in the NFL, but the 2026 campaign will be his last dance before retiring from the game.
The veteran quarterback is set to play his 22 season in the league after agreeing to return for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Despite going 10-7 last season, the 2026 term is going to spark big changes in Pittsburgh following the departure of Mike Tomlin as head coach.
Rodgers will, however, be playing under a head coach he knows all too well after Mike McCarthy replaced Tomlin at Acrisure Stadium.
At the age of 42, Rodgers is the oldest player still active in the NFL, but he has admitted his wife will only allow him to play one final season.

The future Hall of Famer has already put together a sensational career across his years in the league, but the return of McCarthy certainly swayed him to play another year.
Rodgers admitted he had to seek permission from his wife, though.
“I thought last year might be it [the end], and then Mike got hired and I talked to the wife and she said, “You can do one more year,” said Rodgers.
When asked whether he may change his mind and play another season again, Rodgers replied: “Nope. Zero debate. Zero”

Rodgers’ personal life has always been a mystery, with the veteran keeping close tabs on what information leaks out to the media.
The 42-year-old quarterback secretly married his now-wife, Brittani, in early 2025, but she has remained away from the public eye.
Unlike some of the other partners to NFL stars, Rodgers’ wife does not want to be involved in the circus of the NFL media.
However, she has clearly approved of the four-time NFL MVP giving it one last shot before he bows out.
