Bill Belichick will kick off “Carolina Football Live,” the Tar Heels ’ weekly radio show, on Monday, Aug. 24 from Top of the Hill Restaurant and Brewery in Chapel Hill.
Unlike his debut season as a college football coach, Belichick is scheduled to headline the show with radio play-by-play announcer Jones Angell for each of the 12 weeks on the 2026 schedule, with the regular-season finale set for Nov. 26.
Eight of the shows will be recorded live from TOPO at 7 p.m. and three will be recorded in the studio. The location for Nov. 12 will be determined at a later time. Typically on Mondays throughout the season, this year’s show will be on Thursday for 10 weeks. The lone Monday shows are set for Aug. 24 and Sept. 28.

UNC football general manager Michael Lombardi, who remains on paid administrative leave as the university continues its investigation , was often the headliner of the one-hour radio show in 2025. This season, Belichick will be joined each week by other UNC head coaches, various assistant football coaches and Tar Heel athletes.
UNC women’s field hockey coach Erin Matson, a four-time NCAA champion as a player who led the Tar Heels to an NCAA title in her debut season as a coach in 2023, will join Belichick for the first show of the year.
