Three years after the 2023 NFL draft, CBS Sports has re-graded each team's draft class . And it's not looking so good for the Denver Broncos .
The 2023 NFL draft was the only one performed by former coach Nathaniel Hackett, and the first by current Broncos general manager George Paton. Denver's 2023 draft was a little light, after the team traded its first-round pick and a second-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for quarterback Russell Wilson.
"(The Broncos ) had five picks in the draft and all five are still with the team," Pete Prisco of CBS Sports wrote . "The best pick was corner Riley Moss in the third. They also got receiver Marvin Mims in the second, trading up to take him. If only they hadn't made the trade for Wilson." Prisco originally gave the team a B- for their haul.
Although all five players from the draft are still with Denver, some of their careers have gone off in very different directions.
Of the lot, Mims, Moss and center Alex Forsyth have had the most success for the Broncos . Drew Sanders has been limited due to injury, and JL Skinner is a constant special teams player. Prisco gave the Broncos a C now, after looking back at the class.
"I had Mims as their best pick, but that goes to Moss," Prisco wrote. "Mims is still a nice part of their offense and return game. I made the trade for Wilson the worst part of this draft and it was -- even before he was let go by the Broncos ."
The 2026 NFL roster cuts could be a tough one for Sanders, who may be on the outside looking in for the linebacker room. Although coach Sean Payton was high on Sanders in the offseason , he may be on the cut line this weekend.
