Elanga Gets 7.5, Miley With 7 | Newcastle United Players Rated In Entertaining Draw Vs Liverpool
Newcastle United welcomed Liverpool at St. James’ Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game and got their noses ahead in the fifth minute thanks to Anthony Elanga’s goal. Matthias Jaissle’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Cody Gakpo equalised for the Reds with a good strike from long range in the 55th minute. However, Joe Willock restored his team’s lead in the 57th minute. However, Newcastle conceded a late equaliser as Dominik Szoboszlai converted his penalty in injury time. The match ended with the Tyneside club earning an entertaining 2-2 draw at St. James’ Park.

LB: Lewis Hall – 6.5/10
Hall didn’t do much wrong defensively for most of the game, but gave away a cheap penalty in injury time.
CM: Lewis Miley – 7/10
He was a positive influence at both ends of the field and was replaced in the 75th minute.
CM: Sean Steur – 6/10
Steur worked hard in the first half and was substituted early in the second half.
RW: Anthony Elanga – 7.5/10
He was a constant menace in the final third and managed to score in the fifth minute.
Wissa caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
LW: Harvey Barnes – 6/10
Barnes struggled to find the cutting edge in the final third.
ST: William Osula – 7/10
He was a real handful for the Liverpool defenders and managed to earn an assist.
CM: Joe Willock – 7.5/10
He made an instant impact off the bench by scoring with a composed finish.

Ramsey added some energy to Newcastle’s midfield.
