Steve Bruce names team to beat in the Premier League this season

Steve Bruce has named the team to beat in the Premier League title race this season as Arsenal look to retain the title they won last term . The Gunners were terrific last season and were rewarded with the league title, even though they faced a serious challenge from Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta is one of the top managers in the game and has worked extremely hard to ensure his team reaches a level where they are considered one of the best sides around. The manager will continue doing his best to see how well his team performs in all competitions, while Arsenal are increasingly being viewed as the team to beat.

Arsenal Strengthen Their Squad

After landing Christos Tzolis and Bruno Guimaraes , Arsenal appear to be a stronger team this season and will do their best to ensure they win the title again. The additions have provided further quality to a squad that already enjoyed an excellent campaign last term.

Bruce believes Arsenal remain the team everyone has to try to beat this season, even though most of their rivals now have new, good managers. The Gunners have strengthened their squad and will be expected to compete strongly for another league title.

Bruce Backs Arsenal For Another Title

Bruce believes Arsenal’s success last season makes them the obvious side to overcome this term. As quoted by the Metro , he said:

‘I still think Arsenal are the one to beat and they’ve just strengthened as well with Bruno Guimaraes alongside Declan Rice. And I still believe there’s one or two coming into Arsenal.

‘They’re still the one to beat. They won it at a canter in the end, didn’t they? So they’re the ones to beat.’

The comments underline the high expectations surrounding Arsenal ahead of the new campaign. Their strengthened squad and continued progress under Arteta have made them a leading contender, while their rivals will be determined to prevent them from successfully defending their title.

Arsenal will therefore enter the season with significant pressure, but Bruce believes they have done enough to remain the benchmark for the teams chasing the Premier League title.
