According to Andrew Lind of SportsLogos.net , multiple sources indicate that fans will get their first glimpse of the Lions ' new alternate uniforms on Tuesday, Aug. 25. The NFL is set to unveil the new Nike Rivalries uniforms for the eight teams in the AFC South and NFC North that day.

The Rivalries uniforms are meant to “celebrate the traditions, communities and competitive spirit surrounding some of the league’s most iconic matchups," and mirror the creative designs done through MLB’s City Connect and the NBA’s City Edition programs.
An important note regarding the Nike Rivalries uniforms is that each team is only allowed to wear their new set once per season, and it must come at home against a division opponent.
The Lions host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Oct. 25, the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Nov. 1 and the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 26).
While fans have flooded social media over the offseason with concepts of what the Lions' Nike Rivalries uniforms could look like, it should be noted that Lions President & CEO Rod Wood noted in a May 12 interview with Brad Galli that the design would be “consistent with our color and look, but with a little modern twist.”
