PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will introduce a new commentary-free stream for all four days at Detroit Golf Club. The feed will include coverage of the marquee groups on each day without any announcers, focusing instead on player-caddie chats and ambient noise around the course.
The stream will be called "Marquee Group: Quiet Please," and the Tour plans to deploy more visual elements that will help fans follow the round without commentary, with increased use of graphics, live stats and interactive pieces like social media polls, trivia and fun facts, along with occasional soundbites and quotes from the players to add more context to certain situations during the round.
The Tour said the idea for a stream of this sort scored well among its "fan council," prompting them to debut the new project this week, with the hopes of integrating it more frequently into weekly coverage next season.
For the first two days of the Rocket Classic, the following players will be included in the marquee groups, thus making them part of the commentary-free stream:
Jackson Koivun, Wyndham Clark, Keegan Bradley
Round 1 - 7:33 a.m. ETRound 2 - 12:43 p.m. ET
Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Jake Knapp
Round 1 - 1:05 p.m. ETRound 2 - 7:55 a.m. ET
