We are now just five weeks away from Penn State kicking off the 2026 season against Marshall. Let’s mark the occasion by honoring one of the most underappreciated positions in football – the long snapper.
Blaise Sokach-Minnick is entering his fifth season with the Nittany Lions, and his patience looks to be rewarded with a starting role this fall. Sokach-Minnick has appeared in six games during his career, while earning academic All-Big Ten honors the past three years running. The West Pittson, PA, native had a successful career at Wyoming High School, where he also played quarterback and linebacker in addition to being named all-state as a long snapper.
