Kmatz was unstoppable, picking up two wins in two appearances for the Whitecaps. He held his opponents to just a .125 batting average and posted a 0.00 ERA across the seven innings he pitched. He struck out eight opposing batters with just two walks.
His best outing came against Yarmouth-Dennis on July 25, where he pitched four innings and allowed just one unearned run along with two hits. His performance lead Brewster to their fourth straight win for the week.
The Whitecaps are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Massachusetts.
Kmatz, a 2024 Sandia graduate, pitched 14 games, all in relief, in his sophomore year at Oregon State this past season.
