According to Mundo Deportivo, Flick is a big admirer of Baza and asked Barcelona to make their move after learning he was considering joining Serie A side Juventus.
Baza is also said to have pushed for the transfer as he was eager to join Barcelona. The teenager only had a year left on his contract with Hamburg and will sign a three-year agreement with the Catalans.
The teenager arrives just as Barcelona are waving goodbye to Alvaro Cortes. The center-back is set to complete a move to Royal Antwerp before the window closes.
