Doku excited for new era at Man City under Maresca
Jérémy Doku says he is excited about Manchester City ‘s next chapter after signing a new five-year contract with the club.
The Belgium winger has returned to Manchester following an extended break after the World Cup and is now preparing for the 2026-27 campaign under new head coach Enzo Maresca.
Doku’s new deal comes as City reshape their squad, with Elliot Anderson, Jeremy Monga and goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli joining the club this summer. Several existing players, including Phil Foden, Josko Gvardiol and Abdukodir Khusanov, have also committed their futures to City.
The 24-year-old believes the combination of new arrivals and players signing fresh contracts points towards an exciting future at the Etihad Stadium.
“The players have signed, a lot of them, for example, Josko, I came with him I remember the same season,” Doku said in an interview with the club’s official website .

“Signing young guys as well shows what they have in mind as well for the future of this club. And unbelievable players as well.
“So I’m excited for this new group as well, new players, I’m excited to work with them, to meet with them, and to train and play with them.
“And just excited for this new season overall.”
Doku joined City from Rennes in 2023 and has since established himself as an important attacking option, particularly with his ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations.
His new contract keeps him at the club until 2031 and makes him one of the players expected to play a significant role as Maresca begins his tenure.
With the squad undergoing a significant refresh, Doku is looking forward to working with his new teammates and experiencing the next phase of City’s project.
