Notre Dame entered " a multi-year collaboration " with SoFi Technologies to make SoFi the official financial services partner across Notre Dame athletics.
As part of the historic deal, which is reportedly worth between $18 million and $20 million annually , the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team will wear SoFi patches on their uniforms , beginning with the 2026 college football regular season.
On Thursday, July 30, Notre Dame revealed a new-look uniform that will sport the SoFi patch.
"Making an update to our classic green uniform," Notre Dame Football posted on X. "The Irish Wear Green game presented by SoFi."
The video shows wide receiver Cam Williams dressed head-to-toe in the "Wear Green" uniform, showcasing the famed Leprechaun logo on the shoulder instead of the classic "ND" logo.
Chris "Mad Dog" Russo absolutely hates how many changes the Irish are making to one of the most classically simple uniforms in all of sports.
"What, Notre Dame doesn't have enough money?" Russo said on ESPN's "First Take," referencing Notre Dame's SoFi partnership. "Notre Dame prints money. They got the deal with NBC. It's Notre Dame. They got millions of alumni folks coming to their games on a week-to-week basis to see the Grotto and 'Touchdown Jesus.'"
The Fighting Irish will debut the updated "Wear Green" uniforms when they host Stanford at Notre Dame Stadium on Oct. 10.
Notre Dame will begin the 2026 season against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on September 6, and then host Rice for the home opener on Sept. 12.
