The Bridgewater Little League team made history on Wednesday, Aug. 19, playing in the program's first-ever Little League World Series game.
Star pitcher Dominik Mombeleur battled through a tough start, but still limited a dangerous New Jersey (Bayonne) offense. Ultimately, Bridgewater fell to New Jersey, 2-1, in a heartbreaker.
But fear not Bridgewater fans, the New England champions are not done in Williamsport just yet. Bridgewater will take the diamond again later this week in the modified double-elimination tournament.
New Jersey will play Mid-Atlantic (West Chester, Pennsylvania) on Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.

When does Bridgewater Little League play next?
Bridgewater Little League will play an elimination game on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 3 p.m. on ESPN. The Massachusetts and New England champions will play the loser of Great Lakes (Hamilton, Ohio) and Mountain (Henderson, Nevada). Great Lakes will play Mountain on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 2 p.m.
How to donate to Bridgewater Little League families
Bridgewater Little League president Pat Murphy organized a Go Fund Me to help cover the costs of the players' families attending the tournament in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. As of Wednesday night, the fundraiser had raised over $36,000 of its goal total of $45,000.
