The Indiana Fever suffered a second consecutive loss on Saturday night, falling to Breanna Stewart and the New York Liberty, 109-102.
Following the loss, Caitlin Clark spoke about the difficulty of playing down the late-season stretch, and the challenge of playing the sort of schedule the Fever have right now.
"I mean, like there's no excuses. Yeah, our schedule's tough and I think we play more back-to-backs than just about anybody in the league, but you know, it is what it is, and Chicago's playing really good basketball ," Clark told reporters postgame . "I think for us, you have to look at it in a positive way. We're coming off a loss; it's a great opportunity for us to go finish this road trip on a win."
"Yeah, everybody's tired, everybody's sore. Who cares? You know, figure out a way to make yourself feel better and suit up and go play," she said.

The Fever had three players finish with 20-plus points, including Clark, who had 21 points to go with seven assists, four rebounds, and a steal. Kelsey Mitchell continued her hot scoring performances with 25 points on 9 of 15 field goal shooting, while Aliyah Boston had 22 points, six assists, and three rebounds.
That wasn't enough to topple a Liberty team that is among playoff contenders and has always been a tough out for the Fever. Indiana could only outscore their opponents in the second quarter, but otherwise, New York maintained control of the game.
Indiana also lost Makayla Timpson to fouls during their game, compounding the difficulty of trying to defeat a tough opponent on the road. The Fever had previously been on a six-game winning streak and climbed to third in the division.
However, after back-to-back losses and the Atlanta Dream's win on Saturday night over the Phoenix Mercury, Indiana dropped to 24-14 and is now fifth in the standings.
As Clark alluded to in her comments, the Fever will next play the Chicago Sky. That game is scheduled for Sunday at 7 p.m. ET in Chicago, illustrating the rough stretch Indiana is on as they continue their playoff push.
