Oprah Winfrey Reveals Sweet Gift She Got From Beyoncé After Writing About Being ‘Blown Away’ By Renaissance Tour

Even the biggest stars on the planet sometimes get star-struck. Just ask Oprah Winfrey, who revealed during an appearance on the Are You Okay? web series that she was so blown away by Beyoncé ‘s performance during her massive 2023 Renaissance world tour that she sent the singer a letter of gratitude.

“I went to the Beyoncé Renaissance concert,” Winfrey said in the clip posted on Monday (July 27) from the street interview show hosted by Brianna “Bri” Morales. “I was so blown away. I wrote her a fan letter. She obviously liked the fan letter because she then sent me one of the hats from Renaissance. Beyoncé sent me a hat!” Winfrey added about one of the tour’s signature wide-brimmed shiny disco chapeaus.

In her trademark enthusiastic delivery, Winfrey, 72, did a little dance and repeatedly trilled, “I sent her a letter and she sent me a hat! I sent her a letter and she sent me a hat!” as the show’s producers digitally inserted silver hats on her and Morales’ heads.

In August 2023, Winfrey posted an Instagram video of her dancing like everyone was looking at a Renaissance tour stop in New Jersey alongside bestie Gayle King and Bey’s mom, Tina Knowles in the pit near the stage. “I have never in my life experienced something as transcendent,” Winfrey captioned the clip of her dancing next to the stage at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium during “Break My Soul.”

“That kind of talent, synergy, expression, and anointing is something that comes straight from a Source that creates the planets,” Winfrey continued. “The dancers, the production, the musicians, and the team in front and behind the scenes, all perfectly align to create a renaissance in today’s world. You must see it 🪩💃🏽.”

Earlier this month, Beyoncé made a surprise return to the top 10 of Billboard ‘s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for the first time in three years when “Morning Dew (Donk)” launched at No. 7 on the list dated July 18.
