Utah, BYU and Colorado offer picturesque mountain vistas from their respective football venues. There are also plenty of storied grounds that are quintessential college football.
Ahead of the 2026 season, USA TODAY Sports took a stab at ranking all 16 Big 12 stadiums . You can see how they compare to our stadium rankings at Buffaloes Wire .
USA TODAY's Jordan Medoza took into account tradition, aesthetics, gameday atmosphere and home-field advantage. Out of the 16 teams in the conference, he ranked Colorado's Folsom Field as the Big 12's third-best stadium, only behind BYU's Lavell-Edwards and Utah's Rice-Eccles.
Here's what Mendoza had to say about the Buffaloes' home venue:
The third-highest stadium in college football at an elevation of 5,360 feet, Folsom Field really is one-of-a-kind. It's nestled into the campus, with great architecture and the view of the mountain range is so pristine. One of the best traditions in the Ralphie Run gets the crowd going, and how tight the stadium is packed into the campus amplifies the noise when everyone is making their presence known. A credit for Deion Sanders for injecting life back into Folsom and filling every seat in.
Without a doubt, when Colorado is playing well, Folsom Field's energy is unmatched. The issue is that, for the better part of the past decade, CU has struggled mightily to field a competitive team. Times are changing with Deion Sanders at the helm, and after a 3-9 2025 season, CU is hoping for a turnaround in 2026.
The Buffaloes' 2026 home slate features Weber State, Texas Tech, Utah, Kansas State , Houston and UCF. With several of the Big 12's elite making the trip to Boulder this year, expect Folsom to be rocking.
