With their acquisition of Kawhi Leonard hitting a roadblock, the Toronto Raptors are trying to move forward in their preparation for the upcoming season. It was reported that the NBA’s investigation into Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers regarding their potential circumvention of the salary cap could drag on until 2027.
A reunion between Leonard and the Raptors would excite fans , but the possibility of it happening now looks bleak.
The situation, however, has not stopped Toronto from adding talent. According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, Andre Jackson Jr. has agreed to an undisclosed deal with the Raptors to compete for a roster spot in training camp.

“The former (Milwaukee) Bucks second-round pick played in 48 games last season and averaged 2.4 points and 1.5 rebounds per game while shooting 32.8% from the floor in 8.5 minutes per game,” wrote Siegel on X.
“Jackson has the athleticism and length needed for an NBA wing, but his shooting has been inconsistent.”
Jackson, who was drafted in 2023, appeared to be trending upward after playing 67 games in his sophomore season, including 43 starts. He, however, saw his playing time get cut last season, as he played behind Ryan Rollins, Kevin Porter Jr., AJ Green, Gary Trent Jr., and Cole Anthony.
It might be a similar situation on the Raptors, as Jackson will have to compete for floor time with Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, Jamal Shead, Ja’Kobe Walter, and Gradey Dick if he gets returned to the Raptors.
But of course, Jackson will first need to impress coach Darko Rajakovic in training camp to earn a roster spot.
