Indianapolis Colts rookie Caden Curry experienced a moment he had been waiting for Saturday despite the team's 34-6 preseason loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Curry, a Greenwood native and former Center Grove High School standout, played his first NFL game at Lucas Oil Stadium after the Colts selected him in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL draft.
“A dream come true being an Indy kid and being from the south side,” Curry said after the game, per WISH-TV . “Such a great feeling to go out there and be a part of this team now and be a part of this city.”

— WISH-TV News (@WISHNews8) August 22, 2026 The hometown appearance came one week after Curry made a quick impact in his preseason debut against the New England Patriots. The former Ohio State defensive end finished that game with five tackles, one sack, three quarterback hits, two tackles for loss and two passes defensed.
Saturday's result vs. the Falcons made the experience bittersweet for Curry, who totaled a single tackle.
“Obviously it's not the way you want the outcome, you always want to win the game,” Curry said. “So we just gotta get back to action and just get ready for next week.”
