In case you haven’t heard, the Washington Commanders had a tough day in Wednesday’s joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens . With several starters sidelined, including three of the original five projected starting offensive linemen, almost everything was a struggle.
But not everything was bad.
Rookie wide receiver Antonio Williams had himself a day. In one rep, Williams beat Ravens All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton for a catch. On another rep, Williams beat one of the AFC’s top young cornerbacks, Nate Wiggins.

— Carolina Commander (@SC_Commanderr) August 26, 2026 This is impressive work from Williams, Washington’s third-round pick from Clemson. In last week’s preseason game against Detroit, we saw Williams more involved, including making an impressive catch over the middle.
He wasn’t done. With Jayden Daniels under heavy pressure, he throws a strike to Williams, who beats his man and gets into the end zone to end the practice.

— Washington Commanders (@Commanders) August 27, 2026 If Washington can get the offensive line straightened out before Week 1, Daniels will have the best weapons he’s ever played with. Williams is a part of that, joining Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs and Chig Okonkwo, among others.
So, while it was a tough day overall, Williams’ success should have Commanders ’ fans everywhere excited.
