Packers Wideout Reveals Unique Way Receivers Bonded This Offseason

Football is just weeks away, and NFL teams are working to create chemistry they hope will carry them to success in the upcoming season.
The Green Bay Packers are no different, and wide receiver Matthew Golden told reporters, including Cameron Ezeir of CBS 58 , that he and his fellow wideouts have been spending time together outside of practice to develop those relationships.
Golden said receiver Christian Watson welcomed his teammates to his home, and they each shared some of their personal history, just in a semi-competitive way.
"Yeah, I feel like we're a tight group right now, man. We get together outside of football," he said. "We went to Christian's house not too long ago, and we were just watching each other's highlights from college — I mean high school. So we're doing stuff like that, and this off-season I feel like we got real tight, and I like where we are right now."
Golden added that he believes this relationships will pay off when the players hit the field.
"I feel like we have all got a lot of confidence in each other and the things we can do," he said. "I just know when it comes to game time, we're gonna be able to lean on each other."
That will likely be most important during the playoffs.
Last season, the Packers fell just short to their rival, the Chicago Bears, in the Windy City during the Wild Card round, a game they were leading by 18 points.
This year, they'll be aiming for revenge — and a deep playoff run as well.
That's still months off, though, and Golden seemed happy to answer a much more pressing question: Whose high school highlights were best?
"I'm gonna say me, but I ain't gonna lie, Bo [Melton] had some good highlights," he said.
That said, Golden had to make clear that it's hard to compare such highlights directly.
As he pointed out, Melton's high school ball in New Jersey isn't exactly the big-time Friday night lights he experienced near Houston, Texas.
"But they're not 6A football, so it's different," he said. "It's different down there in Texas, I feel like."
