Celtic complete transfer of Egypt winger Haissem Hassan from Real Oviedo
Celtic have announced the signing of Egypt international Haissem Hassan on a permanent deal from Real Oviedo.
The 24-year-old winger underwent his medicals in London after an agreement was reached with the La Liga club.
The Hoopes will pay an initial £6 million for the Egyptian forward, with a further £3 million to be paid in add-ons. He joins on a four-year deal, with the option of an extra year.
Hassan moves to Parkhead after an impressive summer with Egypt at the FIFA World Cup in North America.
The winger was part of the team that came close to eliminating Argentina from the tournament. He picked up an assist in the 3-2 round of 16 defeat.
Hassan was part of the Oviedo side that were relegated from La Liga after just one season in the top-flight in 2025-26. He made 37 league appearances and provided three assists.
He strengthens manager Martin O’Neill’s attacking options following the signings of strikers Kasper Hogh and Camilo Duran.
The France-born winger will bring a style of football that will get the fans off their feet with his mazy dribbling and technical ability.
Celtic have scored six goals across their two league games to start the 2026-27 season, and the addition of Hassan will increase their potency in attack.
