See the full story · 2 sourcesArizona Cardinals fans will have to wait to see their top draft pick play for the first time at least another week. Running back Jeremiyah Love will not play in the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday in the team's preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers .
Head coach Mike LaFleur made that announcement on Wednesday, noting roughly 30 players in total would not play.
What does that mean?
Don't expect any projected starters or any of the key rotational players. Don't expect any player who is even remotely banged up.
This game is an extra preseason game. It will look very similar to a preseason finale.
We can expect to see a lot of Bam Knight and Corey Kiner at running back, a lot of Simi Fehoko, Jalen Brooks, Bryson Green and Reggie Virgil at receiver.
At cornerback, it will be guys like Kei'Trel Clark, Star Thomas and Elijah Culp.
They will be the guys who aren't expected to make the team or will be the deep backups.
The game kicks off Thursday at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. Arizona time) and will air on NBC.
