LAS VEGAS — The Arizona Cardinals ' rotten luck with rookie injuries continued on Thursday, Aug. 13, here in Las Vegas.
This time, it was second-round guard Chase Bisontis who exited early, leaving with a knee injury. He was quickly ruled out for the evening.
Early in the second half, Bisontis appeared to have had a player roll up on his left leg on a pass protection rep. After being tended to by trainers, he was helped off the field, putting minimal weight on his injured left leg.
Bisontis has worked with the Cardinals' backup offensive line throughout training camp and preseason but entered the NFL with high expectations, as the No. 34 pick in this year's draft.
If he is to miss significant time, it would be the latest in an unfortunate string of injuries to highly touted Cardinals rookies. In 2024, Darius Robinson missed 11 games with a calf injury, never quite getting his career off the ground. In 2025, Walter Nolen missed the same number with a series of setbacks. And this season, they have lost fourth-round defensive tackle Kaleb Proctor to a season-ending torn meniscus.
That's in addition to Carson Beck's injured ribs, suffered last week in the Hall of Fame Game.
Beck's injury does not appear to be serious, given that he practiced in full this week.
If Bisontis begins the season on injured reserve, it could open a roster spot for 2025 sixth-round pick Hayden Conner, who has worked with the second team at left guard throughout training camp.
