The Cincinnati Bengals have lots of questions to sort through on defense, but one young cornerback is already giving the coaching staff something good to think about. That player is Bralyn Lux.
Lux enters his second NFL season after joining the Bengals in 2025 as an undrafted free agent. He spent much of his rookie year on the practice squad, but his opportunity is looking a little different this time around.
He appears ready for it. The Bengals have a competition brewing at nickel cornerback, where Jalen Davis currently sits as the starter, followed by Ja'Sir Taylor. But that spot isn't exactly locked down, and Lux has started making his case for a bigger role.

During minicamp, Lux was spotted working with the first team at times, which is usually a good sign for a young player trying to move up the depth chart. Now, he's got to keep proving it.
Lux was a standout at Texas Tech before making the jump to the NFL. The transition from college star to NFL contributor isn't always easy, but, he's already earned the chance to compete.
Cincinnati has been looking for ways to strengthen its secondary, of course. Finding another reliable corner would go a long way. The Bengals already have young talent in DJ Turner II and Dax Hill, and adding another player who can hold his own in coverage could change the outlook of the entire unit.
The arrival of Dexter Lawrence gives the defense another major piece up front, but the secondary still has to hold up.

That's where Lux could become important.
Nothing is guaranteed in training camp, especially for a player who entered the league without the draft buzz many others received. But Lux has already done the hardest part: getting noticed.
