TNA Wrestling saw an opportunity to bring LeBron James to one of their wrestling shows following his signing with the Philadelphia 76ers.
With James joining the 76ers, he becomes the biggest attraction in the City of Brotherly Love. The King is undoubtedly the biggest sports star across Philly.
As much as he is a superstar, James is also a draw. And one wrestling promotion is hoping to use his star power to draw his biggest audience.

TNA Wrestling invites LeBron James to watch Jeff Hardy vs. Nic Nemeth
This Thursday, TNA Wrestling will host an Impact taping live at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA, headlined by a TNA World Championship match between Nic Nemeth and Jeff Hardy.
In an attempt to sell some tickets at the last minute, TNA invited LeBron James, the newest signing for the Philadelphia 76ers, to attend the show and be the official title holder for the match.
“As the Philadelphia 76ers now seriously talk titles, TNA Wrestling has a major World Championship match Thursday in Philadelphia.
“And TNA is officially inviting the new 76ers superstar, LeBron James, to be the Official Title Holder for the Nic Nemeth vs. Jeff Hardy world championship match at the Liacouras Center. See you ringside, LeBron!”
LeBron James no stranger to professional wrestling events
While many fans believe TNA are in for a rude awakening when LeBron James doesn’t show up, The King has actually shown his fandom for wrestling in the past.
In 2003, during his rookie year in the NBA, LeBron James attended WWE Monday Night Raw, which is where his iconic flip-phone picture came from.
Of course, James is far from the only NBA star to be associated with wrestling. More recently, both Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns of the NBA Champion New York Knicks appeared at WWE’s Saturday Night Main Event.
The previous year, Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers also made several appearances, and even James’ new teammate, Joel Embiid, has joined forces with current WWE CCO Triple H.
However, TNA is a much smaller company compared to WWE, and doesn’t have nearly the history and the cultural cache that WWE does. So it is unlikely that James will be ringside for their upcoming Impact taping.
