And soon with iOS 27, Apple will launch new AirPods upgrades that should make that a more common experience.
AirPods already offer plenty of reasons to wear them throughout the day.
Besides the obvious benefits of listening to music, a podcast, or audiobook, you might want to wear AirPods all day for their Active Noise Cancellation, Hearing Protection, or Hearing Aid features. Live Translation is another great reason to keep AirPods in.
But next month, it sounds like Apple could launch the best reason yet to wear AirPods more often.
With iOS 27 and the just-leaked AirPods with cameras, AirPods users will gain Siri AI with real-world intelligence .
iOS 27’s Siri alone is a major upgrade . It can do so much more than the old Siri, delivering the AI overhaul we’ve been waiting for. And with AirPods, you can just talk to Siri wherever, whenever, without needing to pull out your iPhone or another device.
But the addition of IR cameras for visual intelligence means you’ll also be able to talk to Siri about anything you’re looking at.
No need to point your iPhone at something, or manually launch visual intelligence first. Just talk to Siri about anything in your field of vision, and let it get to work.
The combination of Siri’s iOS 27 upgrades with camera-equipped AirPods means users will have so much more reason to wear AirPods all day long.
I’ve already gotten very used to relying on Siri for everyday questions in the iOS 27 beta. Add in hands-free visual intelligence via AirPods, and I imagine that will be more true than ever.
Do you tend to wear AirPods all throughout the day? Will iOS 27 or the camera model change that? Let us know in the comments.
