After recording 268 yards and one touchdown, which came on a 73 yard pass from Marcel Reed against the Florida Gators, Allen also chose to enter the transfer portal after Elko's inagural 2024 season, choosing Cincinnati as his next and final colleigate destination, where he thrived with quarterback Brendan Sorsby, finishing the 2025 season with 51 receptions, 674 yards and 13 touchdowns, while averaging 13.2 yards per reception.
Ending his college career with 2,221 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns, Allen outright earned his selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, going 176th overall to the Kansas City Chiefs , where he has reportedly shined during the first week of the Chiefs' 2026 training camp.
Reportedly becoming a favorite target for future Hall of Fame quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City beat writer Pete Sweeney backed up this claim, stating that he is in the pack to not just earn a roster spot, but become an instant contributor in 2026.
"Cyrus Allen has undoubtedly been Patrick Mahomes’ favorite target. It feels like he’s looking Allen’s way every time he’s out there."
Given Allen's production at three schools, his reliability and versatility shouldn't shock anyone, and given Kansas City's lack of depth at wide receiver, I fully expect the former La Tech, Texas A&M, and Cincinnati wideout to earn a spot on the roster if this level of play keeps up.
