The Crimson Tide is No. 11 in the 2026 preseason US LBM Coaches Poll. Alabama finished the 2025 season as the No. 9 team in the country in the final coaches poll after falling to Indiana in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl and finishing the season 11-4.
The Crimson Tide was predicted to finish sixth in the SEC according to the 2026 preseason SEC media poll.
Ohio State enters the 2026 season as the No. 1 team in the country earning 38 of 72 first place votes. Oregon, Georgia, Texas, Notre Dame and Indiana also each earned at least one first place vote.
Alabama is one of nine SEC teams to appear in the preseason coaches poll along with Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee and Missouri.
Alabama will open the 2026 season against East Carolina . Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 on ABC.
