Linebacker Yasir Abdullah was seemingly all over the field. He finished with two tackles, including one for a loss, a sack, and a quarterback hit. He also helped create the disruption that led to the fumble by Spencer Rattler.
Along with Abdullah's contributions on defense, he continued to make an impact on special teams, which he has done throughout his Jaguars ' tenure.
"He did some good things," Coen said. "He did some nice things on special teams. Had a sack, played with good energy, played physical. I was happy for Yasir."
The linebacker position has become a very crowded one for the Jaguars, with there already being five potential roster spots accounted for between Foye Oluokun, Ventrell Miller, Branson Combs, Dennis Gardeck, and Jack Kiser.
That said, last year the Jaguars did keep six linebackers, and if they go down that path again, Abdullah, along with Jalen McLeod and Parker Hughes, are likely competing for one spot.
Abdullah has experience on his side and, as mentioned, has proven he can make an impact on special teams, which will be an important factor when determining who the final potential roster spot goes to. Also, as the old saying goes, the more you can do -- and Abdullah showed that he has the ability to impact the game defensively in a variety of ways.
