“Do not touch my new driver,” Garrett Clark said in the Good Good Golf ad. Alexis Miestowski had reached toward a co-branded Callaway Quantum driver. Clark ran toward her, knocked her to the ground and stood over her.
Good Good removed the video after it was posted Aug. 21. “We posted a video to our channels that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand,” the company said the next day. Good Good also said it had “always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive to all.”
Callaway responded a few hours later. “We are disappointed by the content that was posted, and are appreciative of Good Good for addressing this,” the company said.
Good Good CEO Matt Kendrick put out his own statement after that. He said the commercial had been meant as a parody of the 2026 horror movie Obsession . “The execution missed the mark,” Kendrick wrote. “Regardless of what we intended, we are responsible for what we put into the world and how it is received.”
“We got this one wrong.” Kendrick also sent a memo to Good Good employees with the subject line “Owning Our Mistake.” The company planned to give the proceeds from the driver campaign to an organization supporting women in its local community of Frisco, Texas.

Callaway CEO Chip Brewer addressed something Good Good could not answer for the equipment company: Callaway had approved the video before it went online. Good Good produced it, Brewer said. Callaway reviewed it.
“That approval should never have happened,” he said.
Clark posted a video of his own Aug. 26. “I personally want to apologize for playing the role in this skit, in this ad, at the magnitude that I did,” he said. He had seen the completed commercial after it went online.
“Looking back, super dumb ad concept, terrible ad in general,” Clark said. “Minutes after it got posted, I was cringing.” He called it the “worst ad known to man.”
Clark’s video ran for about eight minutes. Much of the discussion eventually moved to Miestowski. Clark showed some of the messages she had received after the ad started circulating.
One read, “Hope someone beats you after your round.” “There are hundreds of these comments and messages circulating about her,” Clark said.
Miestowski had played varsity golf at Indiana before joining Good Good. She later became part of Good Good Girls, which launched in late 2025 with four former college golfers.
Clark said Good Good deserved criticism for the ad. He asked people to stop directing personal abuse at Miestowski and the other women around the company. “Hopefully we can move on and grow the women’s side of golf,” he said.

Callaway ended the Good Good relationship the following day, “effective immediately.”
“These actions do not undo the harm caused or excuse our role in it,” the company said. Callaway also committed $1 million to organizations working to prevent violence against women, provide resources to survivors and support education and awareness.
Good Good’s Austin Deal Had a TV Show Attached to It
The PGA Tour had been talking about Good Good before Callaway announced the split. Tour CEO Brian Rolapp was asked about the company during the Tour Championship at East Lake. He called what appeared in the ad “concerning.”
Good Good’s first response had been “disappointing,” Rolapp said. Then he was asked about the company’s place in the PGA Tour event coming to Austin. “It’s a bit of a fluid situation,” Rolapp said.
The Good Good Championship was scheduled for Nov. 12-15 at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin. Good Good stepped away as title sponsor.
“After thoughtful discussions with the PGA TOUR and careful reflection, we have decided to step away as sponsor of our event in Austin this fall,” Kendrick said in the company’s statement. The PGA Tour said the tournament would still be played. It is now listed as the Austin Championship.
There was already a television show tied to the tournament. Golf Channel had filmed Big Break x Good Good at Horseshoe Bay Resort west of Austin.
Big Break had last aired in 2015. This was supposed to be its return. Twelve golfers competed.
Among them were Good Good members Sean Walsh and Matt Meneghetti, former Jason Day caddie Asaeli Marika “Bat” Batibasaga, adaptive golfer Kipp Popert and long-drive competitor Josh Jackson. The winner was supposed to receive a sponsor exemption into the Good Good Championship.
The First ‘Big Break’ Episode Was Called ‘Howdy’
Golf Channel had scheduled the premiere for Aug. 25. An hour-long Meet the Players special was set for 8 p.m.
The first episode had a name: “Howdy.” It was supposed to follow at 9. Neither aired.
A couple of hours before the premiere, Golf Channel announced a one-week postponement after one of the show’s sponsors asked to have its branding removed. Golf Galaxy had been promoted as the presenting sponsor.
Good Good then stepped away from the tournament the contestants had been playing to enter. Golf Channel said the “intended outcome of the series can no longer be fulfilled.” The Good Good season was dropped. Big Break itself is expected to return in 2027.
Kendrick returned to the subject of Callaway early Aug. 28. “Interesting that @CallawayGolf asks us to make an ad then approves it then asks us to take the fall then drops us in a coordinated media blitz,” he wrote on X.
He also criticized Callaway’s $1 million commitment. When another user suggested legal action against Callaway, Kendrick briefly replied that he was “not opposed.”
Front Office Sports spoke with him a few hours later. Kendrick said Callaway had been “nothing but great” to Good Good during the companies’ years together.
