He ended up in Canada — and late for dinner.

There's an (unidentified) Korean BBQ place he visits every time he tees it up in Detroit, and invited his fellow South Korea native, Si Woo Kim, out for dinner Tuesday. Si Woo Kim said sure and typed the restaurant's name into Google maps. Eventually, though, he ended up on a bridge (also unidentified, but we could guess) about to cross into Canada.
As luck (or bad luck?) would have it, there is a similarly named Korean barbecue restaurant in Canada, which was closer to where Si Woo Kim is staying for this week's Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club.
Si Woo Kim, without his passport (but with a heck of a Wikpedia page, as a four-time PGA Tour winner and the No. 18-ranked golfer in the world, tried to turn back (haven't we all?), but it was a one way, and it was too late.
He explained his situation to a U.S. border-patrol officer, who told him it's cool, it happens all the time (story checks out), but he had to cross over to the Canadian side of the Detroit River and talk to the border-patrol officers there before turning back.
And talk to them Si Woo Kim did — and talk, and talk, and talk.
"He tries to explain. He's super nervous but tries to explain what happened," Michael Kim wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "He points to his courtesy car and says I'm here for the golf tournament. This officer is not sure what to do so they drive the car to the side and calls another officer ... then another ... then another until 8!!! Officers are surrounding his car and talking to him and each other. They check his cars (sic) for weapons, stuff like that, and they finally let him thru.
"Night ended up with a nice kbbq dinner about 90 minutes later than we had originally planned."
Talk about an errant drive.
