Joan Jett is taking time off touring to heal following a recent surgery.
On Wednesday, the "Bad Reputation" singer's team announced that two upcoming shows in September were cancelled following orthopedic surgery on her back.
"Following a recent injury, Joan Jett has undergone orthopedic surgery on a fractured vertebrae and will begin the necessary healing process," read the statement posted on Instagram Stories. "In close consultation with her doctors, Joan will not be able to perform at her forthcoming September scheduled shows in Costa Mesa, CA on September 5th and in Louisville, KY on September 24th."
Jett and her band, the Blackhearts , were scheduled to take the stage at the Orange County Fair in California and the Bourbon and Beyond Festival in Kentucky.
