The 2026 college football season is set to begin this weekend, and the North Carolina Tar Heels are one of the teams set to be in action. As UNC kicks off its 2026 season, they are set to play TCU in Ireland.
It will be a rematch of last season's Week 1 game, where TCU took down the Tar Heels in primetime. But UNC is out for revenge and is looking to open strong in what is a very important second year of the Bill Belichick era.
With kickoff now under 48 hours away, the Tar Heels have released their uniform combination for the game, and they are going with a throwback.
The Tar Heels are wearing throwbacks for the season-opening game, going with a navy helmet, a white top, and blue pants. Take a look below:

For TCU , they are going with a dark look with a dark purple helmet, top, and pants.
