That is what helped push former general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah out the door and brought in Nolan Teasley in his place. Despite the shortcomings of the previous front office, they did have some hits in the draft.
We know there are some hits in part due to a recent piece by ESPN's Aaron Schatz . Within it, he discussed the best players on each team under the age of 25. He specifically highlighted guard Donovan Jackson and edge rusher Dallas Turner.
Schatz writes, "Left guard Jackson, age 23, is one of many top Vikings players, and Turner, also 23, moves into the starting lineup full time this season. First-round rookie defensive tackle Caleb Banks and second-round rookie linebacker Jake Golday also join the 23 club. I wouldn't really call quarterback J.J. McCarthy a top Vikings player, as he is in a battle with Kyler Murray for the starting spot, but McCarthy is also 23. Jordan Addison, one of the best No. 2 receivers in the NFL, is 24."
The duo in the trenches of Jackson and Turner has the Vikings set up for success, it seems. The rest of the players mentioned are also doing their best to make sure this team has a wider Super Bowl window than many are expecting out of them.
